the easy way. find a branch. just one branch.

people all go off in different directions, collecting many pieces, tediously, and carrying, awkwardly, armfuls of sticks and small beanches/ twigs, even making several trips to collect enough to be substantial.

being where i live now has taught, or shown me a different, laid back approach to what normally are elongated processes requiring a lot of thought and attention, and instead, being much more casual.

there's always a branch. i find a branch i can barely drag back (the size of a small tree on a suburban street) and burn wood for 6 to 8 hours : )

firestarting isn't even a concept, they just throw a bunch of wood in a pile, on top of embers, or toss some fatwood and a match. and walk away, giving it not a second thought. things aren't always or don't have to be as complicated as we make them out to be.
