Samoa, a Polynesian country, consists of the inhabited islands of Manono, Apolima, Savai'i, and Upolu. The Aleipata is one of many smaller, deserted islands. Formerly known as Western Samoa, Samoa is now formally known as the Independent State of Samoa.
