How Does Reciprocal Inhibition Inhibit The Glutes?
28
Reciprocal Inhibition is when a muscle restricts the ROM of the opposite muscle on the other side of the joint. An example of this is the biceps restricting the ROM of the triceps.
Well, if you’re having trouble with firing up the glutes then it might be the other muscles on the opposite side forcing the glutes to remain weak. That one muscle is the psoas which is why you should try releasing the psoas before training the glutes.
