Faculdade Mental is a reggae band that was born in Fortaleza-Ceará at the end of 2003, formed by friends who had in common the desire to make a sound that had the same enthusiasm as their ideas. At the beginning of their career the band entered the city scene playing at parties, in bars, until reaching the biggest events.

Influenced mainly by Reggae lines, with Roots being the main follow-up, they produced a work with their own sound that brings lyrics in Portuguese dealing with various themes, related to people's daily lives and the facts that often happen in the artistic-cultural context, the songs carry ingredients that are the result of this process of transformation, in the lyrics of the songs, perspectives and experiences that connect with the feeling of words, a network of relationships between reality and art, because one of the band's hallmarks is to transform into music what makes us understand what we are.

Self-titled album was released in 2012.
