We Won! False Copyright Strike OVERTURNED!

The morning if 11/19/2022 started off as any other Saturday morning, my wife and daughter got up early, I laid in bed for a little bit to relax. When checking my emails, I noticed that I have had a notice regarding YouTube copyright, this wasn't completely unexpected as I actually had two other channels post my video as their own and I had submitted a copyright claim just the day before. However, this email was to indicate that someone had placed a copyright strike against me! Why, I don't know, the copyright claim does not indicate what they are claiming that I use. Confused, I reached out to YouTube via the chat function to try to get resolution. That was a waste of time .

It appears that YouTube can only address topics such as help in tech support via their chat, but can do nothing regarding support for false copyright claims. They advise that I should reach out to [email protected] to see if I can get assistance. I did, yet another waste of time .

When I reached out to YouTube with all of my information via that email address, but then 3 minutes I got a notification back stating that the video that I am disputing the copyright strike on has no copyright strike on it. It has no content ID match. It's as if there was nothing wrong with the video. I attempted three different times to message them but the automated system flagged this way each and every time. So I reached out to team YouTube on Twitter.

Team YouTube on Twitter has been absolutely useless as well. They keep telling me that I can file a dispute, however they will not tell me whether or how to file that dispute before the copyright strike takes place. I am not going to have a strike on my channel and then have to fight it .

I don't know what is going on, I don't know what YouTube is doing here. All I know is some Korean company has claimed a video of mine from February 2022. It appears that I have one of three options here:

- Do nothing and accept the strike and then have to go through copyright strike classes .
- Allow the strike to happen and then further dispute it down the road, but then I can't upload anything for several days.
-Delete the video.

I'm thrilled to report that on 11/21 the strike has been OVERTURNED!
