A prankster mum has fooled her children by pretending an egg was about to hatch.

Louise Staples decided to play a prank on her children in their home in Brighton.

Holding an egg in her hand, Louise pretended that a newborn chick was about the hatch.

As her excited children gathered around, their joy quickly faded when their mum's finger burst through the egg as opposed to a new cute pet.
