Jeep Compass intermittent windshield wipers come on when turning turn signal switch replacement

I had an odd / random problem with this 2012 jeep compass. The windshield wipers would come on randomly when turning the car or using the turn signals. The problem is the turn signal switch. In this video you can see how the windshield wiper switch is wired through and connected to the turn signal switch.
