Hunger and Thirst for Righteousness - Ravi Chandran

Ravi continue to share the series sermon on the mount as we explore Matthew 5:6, "Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they will be filled.”

As laughter and crying are the basic human behaviour, so is hunger and thirst a fundamental human appetite. From infants, we do not need to teach a child about these behaviour patterns. Our Creator redirects the roots of our basic behaviours to a higher purpose - righteous! Our basic instincts are linked to a higher spiritual purpose so we can relate with it. What does true righteousness mean? How can it be filled. Is there such a thing as false righteousness? Could it be a temporary fix?

From the Garden of Eden, we see mankind, after the fall, while being led to respond to redemption, finding alternate ways to eternal life. We see it all around us today; Jesus who is the way the truth and the life while lying satan seduces mankind to alternate realities. The lies never satisfies while the truth sets us free.

These and related issues will be dealt with this Sunday as we explore into our God’s teachings on what it means to be truly satisfied.
