Walt Heyer lived as Laura Jensen for 8 years. He was euphoric after the final surgery and heard the medical staff address him as "Laura." After 8 months, however, he began to feel dissatisfied. The old feelings of confusion returned to haunt him. All the while his gender specialist doctor assured him that he was fine.
