Science hiding in myth

When we look at myths, it’s easy to only appreciate them at face value and not as the product of hundreds or if not millions of attempts to find the best way to describe a scenario or carry out a deed.

This is a type of science. Although these tales seem quaint there have been many occasions where we found deeply useful historical or scientific information buried within the mythological understanding of the phenomenon.
