Big Eastern White Pine Takedown

Here's the video of the take down of the rest of the big eastern white pine out in Middleburg yesterday.

You can see on the ground cam the hard lean into a very nice barn and had it fallen forward into the lean it would have smashed into the barn.

If it fell in the direction of the camera it would smash the fence.

Also I couldn't drop it on the holly or the small sapling to the left.

The one space I could see that it would fit was diagonal to the barn and fence.

The trick was to get it to fall against the lean but just slightly, in this case just off to the right of it, so it didn't hit the barn roof or windows, which can be tricky because when you're that close to the direction of the lean it always wants to wander back to the direction of the lean. You gotta force it over.

3 wedges and a good cut did the trick.
