How the EU is Making Smartphones Way Better

Europe is planning to make smartphones way better.
That would basically be achieved by forcing manufacturers to support smartphones & tablets for longer periods of time.
This would offer things such as a minimum of 3 years for feature updates, minimum of five for security updates.
Companies would as well have to offer many major replacement parts for phones such as displays, batteries, charging ports and many more.
Quality batteries would also have to be available to the end consumer along with professional repair centers & even instructions on how to fix things if you wanted to do it yourself.
They say that just extending the lives of smartphones from 3 to 5 years this would have the same environmental benefit as taking 5 million cars off the road.
