Hawawshi (pronounced as written) is a popular Egyptian street food similar to the Western hamburger made with beef and incorporates loads of spices and flavors. Usually made with Egyptian bread, my easy version uses pita bread which should be available in most countries. I hope you will enjoy this special treat!

EASY EGYPTIAN HAWAWSHI

Ingredients:
5 pcs pita bread
500g ground beef
¼ cup chopped onions
¼ cup chopped green bell pepper
1/8 cup chopped parsley
2 tbsp tomato paste
10 slices cheddar cheese
Salt to taste
Olive oil for brushing

Spice Mix:
1 tsp ground all spice
1 tsp paprika
1 tsp ground black pepper
1 tsp cayenne pepper flakes
½ tsp ground cumin
½ tsp ground cinnamon
