Facebook did a good thing?

Everyone’s favorite social media platform Facebook is improving their platform?
Specifically, Facebook is trying to add end-to-end encryption to its Messenger chat platform.
This would be a welcome change making the chats more private & secure.
It would also mean that Facebook itself could not read your messages & make it way harder for third parties to do the same.
Also it means that if you’re doing something illegal & Facebook is forced to hand over your chat history it’s gonna be a lot more complicated for authorities to decrypt your messages.
Like very recently when Facebook needed to hand over chat history from a teen because of prosecution of newly criminalized abortions.
So good job Facebook for doing a good thing for once.
