She discusses what she calls the subtle tools such as torture and drone strikes which have furthered the wider US policies which have led to so many excesses, the rise of the breadth and frequency of the use of frequency by the US governments since the 9/11 attacks, the degradation of language by making policy boundaries deliberately vague such as in the AUMF to enable broader and wider US military interventions, and how Barack Obama continuing the use of the subtle tools meant that they were left on the table for Donald Trump, who she says had no respect for procedure and the law. She goes onto explain how the War on Terror tools have been used domestically in immigration policy and at the southern border and discuss much more!
