Second String to Top Dog ~ Repair task for Battle Pass gets weird [War Thunder Gameplay]

This match is weird, not so much for it being fairly traditional, but because I was specifically trying to get repairs for the Battle Pass task, NOT get kills or score points. And yet I ended up in first place. I still haven't figured out how! It wasn't even all that many kills!
