3 science-backed ways to manage stress
1) Breathe
When you are in a stressed state take a few minutes to breathe. You want to activate the parasympathetic nervous system by making your exhales longer than your inhales. Inhale for 4, exhale for 6 and repeat. You can even through in some stretching whilst you breathe.
2) Take regular breaks
You want to work in what is called an ultradian rhythm. This means working in 90min sprints and take a 15min or so break. Try going outside to get some sun or go on a brief walk.
3) Supplement adaptogens
Adaptogens help your body to manage stress. Aim to have ashwaghanda or licorice root. You can also try with Omega-3s like fish oil or algae oil.
