In January 2018, China declared its intention to seize part of this region for itself with an official policy drawn and presented to the UN.

All of these countries have some special interests in the arctic. A region measuring about 14 million square kilometers, with the highest deposit of mineral resources on earth.

Now, with the ice in this region melting, thanks to climate change, all of these countries that claim to be arctic nations are waiting eagerly to harness these resources. But there may be a little problem with that.
