I Know You For We Are One! 🌐🕊️

Original poem:
I KNOW YOU

I have never met you,
yet I know you for--
We are one.
We are created equal.
We are flesh, and blood and bones,
but most of all,
we are heart and spirit.

We speak.
We hear.
We touch.
We smell.
We taste.
We see.
We are man, woman, and child.
We possess the innate desire
to earn a living, love our families and friends in peace.

The difference is the way we interpret
one from the other,
According to our culture, our heritage, our beliefs,
the color of our skin
the foods we eat
the clothes we wear
the place we call home-
Our universal commonality.

We desire to eat, drink, and be merry
without interference from outside forces.
In all of this –
The similarities,
The differences,
I still understand, embrace and accept that
we are one--
and I know you!
