Let Them Marry
1Corinthians 7
Obj: that the brethren may have strong and loving man-woman and family relationships
Intro: Summary of Chapter:
- practical advices to the family, marriage life specially in church setting

Sensitivity and Importance of the Subject:
1. Approach It Properly
a. Warning – v.1 – negative – “not good”
b. Proper words used - e.g. benevolence, come together, burn
i. Life-time partner
c. Consider judgment of each individual on the subject – remember: individual soul liberty – v.6
2. Applied in the Church – v.1 – ‘wrote unto me’
a. Considers what is good and bad – v.2 – avoid fornication
i. Avoid being victim to the enemy – Satan – v.5
b. Considers this God is the giver of gifts – v.7
c. Consider the work of God first – v.5 – prayer / fasting
3. Divide between Saved and Unsaved however still more important – vv. 12-16
a. It is harder for any to be with an unbeliever
b. God still considers marriage with unbelievers are legitimate
Things to Consider in Marriage:
1. Avoid Sin of Fornication/Adultery – v.2
a. Marriage protects us from certain sins
b. One to one commitment – ‘own’
2. Obligation to the Spouse
a. Ownership – v.2 – with love and protection for each
b. Render what is Due – v.3
c. Power over body – v.4
d. Be true to each other – v.5 - Defraud not
3. Considers which are the better options – vv. 7-8
4. Lead People to Marriage – v.9
“Whoso findeth a wife findeth a good thing , and obtaineth favor of the LORD” Prov. 18:22
Message/conclusion:
Let us learn from this chapter how we may serve the Lord better
By following this His pattern in the family structure for the saints/brethren
