1.4. The Wrath of God

A wave of progressive Christianity has really caused a lot of damage in Christianity today, where personal experiences and enlightenment about God take preference above central truths found in Scripture. Humanistic morality is placed above the sovereignty of God’s justice. For instance, we see this where Progressive Christians would even deny that God required Jesus to die for our sins. They would say that Jesus came to die, not because God required it, but because mankind required it. They have placed the truth, that “God is love”, above all other truths and characteristics of God. Progressive Christianity downplays the devastation of sin in people’s lives, as well as the importance of God’s righteous judgment on sin.
