Acts 10 Simon the Magician (Acts 8:1b-24)

Despite the weather we're trudging on and having Bible class tonight. I can get through mountains of snow in Big Red, so it's no big deal for me. Kinda fun. 🤣

KNOW THIS: It's up to you whether you come or not, but I do know that 5-Mile Rd has NOT been plowed and the parking lot HAS been plowed. It probably has another 2" on it now. LIVE STREAM will happen. George is going to run the show.

Here's your chance to have a good excuse to stay warm and cuddly at home next to the fire with some house-shoes and hot cocoa while we learn about Simon the Magician (that actually sounds really appealing to me). We're going to analyze whether this man really was a believer or not. There's a lot of controversy about this guy, and I'll tell you most people interpret this one right out of their theology. The text doesn't matter much. We want to be objective. We do that by following the rules of hermeneutics. If you follow the rules you can't cheat. That's the only way to remove theological bias and see what the Scripture says and whether or not it's clear enough to decide.
