US and Japan making 2nm chips

US & Japan are joining forces in order to create a fab that will be able to produce bleeding edge 2nm chips.
The facility would be built in Japan somewhere between 2025 and 2027 & would receive funding from the Japanese government to help cover the costs of research & development.
Japan also has some of the World’s leading collaborative research on 2nm chip technology, not to mention that it could get help from the US companies Intel & IBM.
This is just another example of countries trying to bring up chip manufacturing & strengthen supply lines.
Chips are used in pretty much everything these days & at least the chip shortage made governments of the world take their manufacturing more seriously.
