Wanting what someone else has can inspire you to make changes in your life. Resenting the other person for having what you want is why envy is one of the 7 deadly/cardinal sins. It is the opposite of gratitude and love. Be grateful for what you have, while you work on what you want. Leave the negative feelings for others out.
