How it began
February 2020
There was a robbery at President Cyril Ramaphosa’s private game farm, Phala Phala, in Limpopo.
It was reported that around $4million dollars was taken.

June 2022
Former Spy Boss, Arthur Fraser lays charges of money laundering, kidnapping and corruption against Ramaphosa.
Until this point the country was unaware of the robbery.

June 14 2022
African Transformation Movement (ATM) leader, Vuyo Zungula tables a motion for parliament to form a Section 89 Committee to investigate whether Ramaphosa violated the Constitution.

July 2022
Police Commissioner, Fannie Masemola says that a case of theft was only registered a month after the crime by the head of the Presidential Protection Unit Major-General Wally Rhoode.

August 2022
Independent Police Investigative Directorate (IPID) launches an investigation into the conduct of the police involved in the robbery investigation.
Hawks head, General Godfrey Lebeya said it had obtained 41 statements on the Phala Phala investigation.

November 2022
Ramaphosa delivers his submission on the Phala Phala probe.
He maintains he did nothing wrong.

Retired Chief Justice Sandile Ngcobo delivers the findings of the section 89 independent panel which finds that Ramaphosa may have violated the Constitution.

Pressure mounts on President Ramaphosa to resign.
One hour before he was meant to address the nation - where he was widely expected to resign - he calls it off.

The ANC NEC called a meeting at Nasrec but.President Cyril Ramaphosa did not show up.
The meeting was adjourned until December 4 2022.
