Lewandowski trains as Poland prepare for Round of 16 France match

Poland captain Robert Lewandowski on Saturday led his teammates final preparations for their FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 Round of 16 showdown against Reigning champions France at Al Thumama Stadium.

The talismanic forward took part in warm-up drills in front of the media on Saturday afternoon.

With 136 matches and 77 goals on the international stage under his belt, Lewandowski is not only his country's most-capped player, but he is also its all-time leading goal scorer by quite some distance.

Poland booked their spot in the knockouts for the first time since 1986 by the tightest of margins, despite losing their final Group C clash with Argentina 2-0 last Wednesday (30th November).

Hardly anyone will view Czesław Michniewicz's side as favourites against Les Bleus, but they will likely draw inspiration from Tunisia, who beat France 1-0 in their final group match.

France, who finished top of Group D, have a clear statistical advantage - 8 wins, 3 losses, with five draws - over Poland in the head-to-head encounters.
