On October 8, 2022, protesters demonstrated in front of NYC City Councilmember Marjorie Velázquez's office after she reversed her long-stated position on the Bruckner upzoning proposal and supported it in City Council committee meetings on October 6. The proposal was approved and is headed to a full City Council vote.
