Table Saw Inserts: Tear-Out Test on Natural Woods! Fail?!?

I am re-visiting the Zero Clearance Throat Plate for the table saw, but this time I am comparing it with non-zero clearance throat plates on Natural wood and Plywood to see if using zero clearance gives a cleaner, cuts with no tear out in the wood for both ripping and crosscutting.
