On December 9, 2020 The Government of Canada issued a Press Statement that was intended to inform and reassure Canadians.

The press release told Canadians, that the Government had achieved a milestone in the fight against Covid 19, thanks to advances in science and technology. The release went on to say that Phizer's submission had met the stringent safety, efficacy and quality requirements for use in Canada.

The release assured Canadians that the review process was rigorous and there was a strong monitoring system in place.

But was there really?
