3D Printer Filament loading Issue, Watch for the Reason Why

I couldn't load filament in the extruder. I tried bending the filament for different angles. Cleaned underneath and seen no blockage. I looked from the side and it looked like there was filament blocking the hole. Carefully used the exacto to break it up and a needle to check the inside. Put it all back together and was able to load and print again. This is a Flashforge Dreamer NX 3d printer.
