The Ni'ihau Incident (remake)

On December 7th 1941, aircraft from the Imperial Japanese Navy attacked the US military bases in & around Pearl Harbor, Hawaii, an attack that brought the U.S. into active participation in world war 2, the most devastating conflict in human history.

Also on that 7th of December, a Japanese pilot involved in the attack crash landed on the Hawaiian island of Ni'ihua. What occurred over the next 6 days is little known outside of those who study history deeply, yet it is also the stuff of legend.
