Foreigner gets DESPERATE in India 🇮🇳 Haridwar

India, Haridwar: bank, credit cards, debit cards, and QR codes, do not work for foreigners visiting this country.

India has adopted a QR code system for payments. But unlike China which has an app for foreigners (Alipay), a foreigner in India has no way to pay but to use cash.
The problem is most foreign Credit and Debit Cards won't work in India unless you use them to withdraw money. But even to withdraw, only a few selected banks will accept such cards. I walked a lot to find such banks: my EU cards worked in ICICI Bank in Haridwar, Bank of Baroda in Amristar, Axis Bank in Delhi.
When you want to book an internal flight, most airlines will refuse your foreign cards. So you have to go through an agency or Goibibo and pay them a commission.
The railway website accepts foreign cards, but they use an external app that also takes a commission fee. And when the train is overbooked they refund you only the original amount, not the commission.
Yesterday, during a live stream, I was in a mall that accepts only cards or qr codes payment... I almost didn't get my dinner without the help of a security guard working there.
It's very hard to be a foreigner in this country.
