Artist Bio: Arriving by time machine from the psychedelic era – and yet always thrillingly ahead of their time — MAPLE MARS landed on the Los Angeles pop scene with a multi-colored bang! About the Video: The new single “Silver Craft” takes the space travel theme to the limit, and so does the video, as the band — lead singer/guitarist Rick Hromadka, guitarist Steve Berns, and drummer Ron Pak — decide that their next tour should take them to Mars. They’re instantly whisked off on an intergalactic (and psychedelic) journey including an encounter with an alien entity bearing a strong resemblance to their bassist Joe Giddings! Hromadka, who also directed the thrillingly trippy clip, explains the origins of the song: “I originally wrote this song for my 2014 solo album Trippin’ Dinosaurs and it was originally called 'Sailing Ship', but it never made it onto that album. Maple Mars actually performed it live once but never again. I decided to resurrect it for this new record. And because we already had a song called 'Anchors Aweigh' I felt I should change the title to what the song is really about, which is space travel with a companion on an alien craft.” It’s a perfect fit on an album whose themes of transformation and travel have already struck a chord with critics and listeners worldwide, and the science fiction visuals, along with a bit of sly humor, fit the rushing rise and fall of “Silver Craft” perfectly.
