Midfielder Kalvin Phillips said on Thursday England were "stronger as a group with more as a group that we're a lot better now going forward and defensively."

He comments referred to last year's Euros when England lost in the final on penalties to Italy.

He was speaking ahead of England's World Cup quarter-final against world champions France on Saturday.

"I believe the confidence is... is running for us and we are very confident to go out in the next few days and you know, hopefully try and beat France."
