David Lindsay: Governments Often Mischaracterize and Misrepresent Your Rights

In this clip, taken from the November 30th Empower Hour, long-time guest speaker David Lindsay talks to Action4Canada founder Tanya Gaw about how governments at all levels in Canada often mischaracterize and misrepresent your rights and freedoms.

He also notes how governments also routinely mischaracterize the legislation they create and pass, with the end result that Canadians think that they don't actually possess certain rights and freedoms, or that these rights are somehow substantially limited. As David puts it, "governments cannot enact 'blanket legislation' that attempts to cover everyone and every situation because it won't survive a Charter challenge."
