This video shows how to spot a bad battery before replacing it. It is our experience that batteries fail the most when the temperature changes. And it's that time of year again, when the temperatures drop along with battery voltage and cold cranking amps! This vehicle was super special in throwing us a few strange test results when we diagnosed it. Other wise it would have been a piece of cake! The special hint is if you have to reset your clock after the jumpstart, you have a bad battery, especially if you made it home after that jumpstart.

We show how you can test the battery yourself and another alternative if you don't have any tools. We test the battery with a voltmeter, and talk about other tests we have done. We show a few easy examples of how to see if your battery is dead, without even opening the hood.
