₿itcoin will always be the big dog on the block, but as a store of value. It simply can't corner the market as a fast payment system to compete with something like VISA, nor can it handle smart contracts, etc.
Alt-Coins will be needed for Faster Transactions, Payment Systems, Smart Contracts, Inventory Cataloging, etc, etc.

Shit-Coins are the coins created by scammers and crooked exchanges to sucker people out of their money. They are always centralized, created out of thin air, bring nothing to the table, provide no innovation and the developer(s) always seems to award themselves a large portion, trades/sells them to other Shit-Coin developers/exchanges to make it seem like their coin is popular; therefore being traded at an accelerated rate. FTX's FFT token is a great example of a Shit-Coin. 💩

Thinking that everything but ₿itcoin will cease to be is ridiculous. Likewise thinking that ****-Coin will dethrone ₿itcoin is also ridiculous. For the simple reason that there is nothing like ₿itcoin. Anything in the top 10 or 20 cryptos is probably a safe bet that it will stay around, but do your homework before dropping $ on any crypto, including ₿itcoin. 😉

I cannot think of a single innovative product that does not have competitors or similar products that do almost the same thing but a bit cheaper, faster and/or in a different way: Cars, Computers, Phones, Social Media Sites, Energy Drinks, Coffee, Guns, etc., etc.
