The Mayor mixes Oasis and Savage Garden today into the Segue City Special for a generational difference in sound today. It's Sunday morning and everything seems to be running in 3/4 time but that's okay. It's not a bad thing to slow down for the weekend and just be. One of the Mayor's mentors and a dear friend of his just passed and it has put him into a very pensive, reflective mood about the fragility of life as this segment of eternity. In the end, it always comes back to the fact that all of us will be alive forever - just not always here - sometimes here but just for a blink of an eye...
Segue City is a recurring short-form programming element. At some point it will be a part of "The Big Kahuna." That’s an Internet Radio format that’s a part of Global Entertainment Technology that was created by Dain L. Schult.
It revives the art of mixing two songs together in a seamless pattern where it is tough to tell where the first song ended and the second one began. Sometimes the segues may also revolve around thematic ideas like matching or similar song titles.
Other times there are hidden meanings and Easter Eggs in the mix as well. We'll try anything because no two Segue City Specials will ever be exactly the same...
