Incompetence from USPS - Well, this just happened. IRL

So, it's the holiday season and of course, I've ordered things online to be delivered. Today, I go to the mailbox and find that my local mail person has literally won the prize for 'putting a square peg into a round hole' contest.
I had to take a knife and gently cut the fragile contents out of the box first
THEN compress the box from the inside in order to gently pull it out without damaging my mail box post.
Contents of a box is supposed to be opened inside of a house, not outside on the street!
