Why buy local? For starters, big lot stores are destroying our local high streets. Is that a bad thing? Yes! We want green grocers, not produce departments. We want fishmongers and butchers, not meat cutters. By supporting your local artisans, you are taking a stand against the war on the middle class and...if the grid goes down, distribution and chain supply breaks down. If you haven't encouraged local production, you'll starve. The government that gives you everything...can also leave you helpless.
