RAIL CLOSE CALL: NYPD Officers Rescue Man From Subway Tracks

This is the dramatic moment NYPD officers rescue a man who fell onto subway tracks before he could get run over by an oncoming train.

The incident reportedly took place at a train station in Brooklyn, in New York City, in the US state of New York in the early morning of 10th December.

Newsflash obtained the images from Keechant Sewell, the Police Commissioner of the City of New York, along with a statement that said: "Last night, when a straphanger accidentally fell onto the tracks in a Brooklyn train station - Officers who were close by sprinted to his aid and pulled him to safety."

Body-worn footage shows the officers rushing to help the 34-year-old man, who was not named, after being flagged down by bystanders who witnessed the man fall on the tracks.

They jumped to the tracks and quickly pulled him up onto the platform before a train could enter the station.

Commissioner Sewell applauded the heroic and fast-acting officers in a tweet: "Proud of these officers for their quick actions — helping a fellow NewYorker in need."

Police later reportedly discovered that the man was intoxicated and transported him to a local hospital for treatment and evaluation.
