Maple Cutting board with blue resin #Shorts

This Cutting board with resin cutting board has been made from hard dense maple. It is a long grain board with a section of blue resin running through it. The contest of the warm yellowish maple and the blue resin is very complimentary. The cutting board is about 2" thick by 9" wide and 20" or so long. It is very dense and very heavy!
I used a Dewalt planner to flatten the board into a perfectly even cutting board. From there I sanded using different grits of sand paper to achieve a very smooth surface. End grain cutting boards are more desirable but since this wood is so dense an hard it will hold up to knife used for many years.
