Ice Water Plunges continue
So the challenge is not really the water anymore, the challenge is finding solutions to deal with the ice. I was thinking yes I can use a stick to break the ice going in today if there was ice.. but there was more ice than expected AND the stick broke as I attempted to break the ice with it.... unexpected as the open water seemed to have massive waves. Now the solution may be going somewhere else that doesn't have so much formed ice. I sort of like the swimming. The breaking point today was my hands. I am wonderin gif Wim Hoffs pole spinning helps get circulation going in the hands. This is the challenge. I wonder how much longer I can keep going in not because the water will get to cold for me, but that the ice will make it difficult to actually get into the water. You see these ice water swimmings like Wim and they all seem to not be able to beat ice formations, it beats them, they nearly die when they get stuck under the ice. The ice is so hard it may be difficult to break even with the full force of the body. It is a moving mass that seems not so daunting.. but when you realize it is immensely heavy and quite strong, and sharp. So innocent looking but a barrier. I can immerse myself under the water but I wonder how long I can do it. I am not sure if I will have any room tomorrow to get in.. now I need to walk over layers of ice to get in and move chunks of ice to move to an opening.. but almost an invisible field of ice is just beyond the entry.
I would like to keep getting the benefits of the cold exposure.. but I must be mindful of any potential risks from the activity. Currently ice is barrier, you would think it is the cold water, but no it is the ice.
Got to add, I am currently intermittant fasting more or less, I will aim to break by fast and prepare my meal after coming back from the cold water dip. I am looking to fine tuning the diet to get aminos and nitrates, I think that there is likely an ideal cold weather diet, that may modify what type of fasting is undertaken. Plants don't normally grow in ice climates so I can't fully understand how this could be a natural part of a cold diet.
