Lui Kang : History of the Nunchaku Weapons | Mortal Kombat Lore

For a long time, Liu Kang didn't require weapons: he had his fists and fire abilities. In later games, Liu Kang further referenced Bruce Lee by having nunchaku. They began as Liu Kang's weapon in Mortal Kombat: Deadly Alliance and Armageddon.

They did not return until Mortal Kombat 11 and its astonishingly detailed gear system. Now imbued with his fiery arcana, fans have come to accept the nunchaku as the perfect weapon for the champion of Mortal Kombat.
