Did Halo copy the dead "Halo Killer?"

Killzone was hailed as, and wanted to be a Halo Killer back in the days of PS2 and PS3. While I loved them, they obviously didn't "kill" halo, especially since they're dead now and halo is still doing pretty well.

It's just funny when the smart kid in class, copies answers from the dumb kid next to him, but didn't realize the dumb kid was copying off of him to begin with. Reminds me of The reboot Tomb Raider trilogy copying Uncharted which was adapting from Tomb Raider. Why would the OG's copy the copies? Food for thought haha.
