Level 43/99 FF7 1st Level

So, I'm playing the original Final Fantasy 7 game, and I'm trying to get to level 99 in the first reactor level, RIGHT before fighting the first boss...I just hit level 43 on both Cloud and Barrett...do you think I have the patience to hit Level 99 before I touch the first boss?
