Upon receiving his high school equivalency degree in New York State, serial killer Israel Keyes joins the US army and is stationed in Egypt for some time. Whilst he was abroad, his worldview changes and he comes to terms with who he truly is. When he arrives back in the States, he meets a woman and when it is learned that she is pregnant, Keyes decides to stick around and wants to play his part in raising and supporting his daughter. Despite being a good father on the surface, in the back of his mind, his true self is just itching to act out when access and opportunity present themselves.
