Boötes Void is one of the largest known voids in the entire universe. It is also referred to as “The Great Nothing” and is cosmologically classified as a “super void”.

Boötes Void is nearly 330 million light-years in diameter and approximately 0.27% of the diameter of the ENTIRE observable universe.

The sheer size of this void is puzzling. Some scientists argue the existence of super voids like Boötes Void call into question the current understanding of how the universe formed.

Furthermore, some futurists have suggested that the mysterious existence of super voids may be indicative of advanced extraterrestrial civilizations that could exceed the Kardashev scale (i.e., Kardashev 3+ civilizations that have the ability to harvest the energy of multiple galaxies).
