SAFE HANDS: Hiker Rescued Via Helicopter After Falling Ill On Excursion

This is the moment a 51-year-old hiker gets rescued via helicopter after falling ill during an excursion on a mountain in Italy.

The man, who was not named, was reached by a helicopter crew from Rome, Italy, almost immediately after they received a report of a hiker suddenly feeling unwell.

Newsflash obtained the images from the Vigili del Fuoco, along with a statement according to which the man was recovered on board and taken to the nearest hospital.

The footage shows firefighters aboard a Drago 140 emergency helicopter hoisting up the man, who was placed in a carrier and secured with a rope and carefully boarding him to safety.

Paramedics from the Tor Vergata Hospital took over the patient as soon as he was brought in to be treated right before the footage cuts.
