Philmont trek opening campfire

Before any Philmont trek your crew will go to the Opening Campfire to learn about the history of the Ranch and surrounding area. When the weather doesn't cooperate, the opening campfire can be moved to the Philmont Staff Association shelter in base camp. That is what you see here... the beginning of the opening campfire presentation for our crew in mid-June, 2021.
